I was surprised to see that you replaced the \'straw\' on both sides but can easily see that it would have looked \'funny\' if you had only done one side. I could not be happier. Dear Peter: Daryl and I could not be more pleased with the results you achieved refinishing our rather large (10\' x 4\') and heavy oak refectory table. In discussing various treatments, we focused on the need for durability as the table is used for kids\' homework in addition to dining. Your advocacy of refinishing by applying coats of conversion varnish won the day and we now have a table that is both stunning and which satisfies the\" heavy use\" requirement. I am the proud owner of antique furniture inherited from my great great grandmother and handed down generation to generation. The furniture had been in storage for a long time and was in bad need of repair. I searched all restoration and conservation experts in the tri-state area, but none were as responsible and knowledgeable. I’ve had the pleasure of working with A.R.S. Antiqua on two occasions. In both instances, I was enjoyed the entire process and was thrilled with the outcome. Peter and his team are skilled craftsmen who take the time to work with client to achieve a perfect end result. Peter has a fabulous aesthetic and gently guided me into making the best choices for my dresser and credenza, even creating and mailing sample finishes for me to review to ensure that I was happy with the final outcome. My friends are astonished at the beauty that A.R.S. Antiqua was able to uncover from my tired old pieces. Unfortunately, his restoration/refinishing work looks so good, that my other furniture now looks tired in comparison, which is good news for him.
