Frame needed complete restoration.
The term "Regency" is often used not only to describe the constitutional position in the nine years between 1811 and 1820 when Prince of Wales ruled as Prince Regent during the illness of his father, George III, but also the development of decorative arts and architecture at the end of the eighteenth century and the begining of the nineteenth century.
This bench is just a small example of fine wood (rosewood) and brass inlay that was used in this period. Project details |

 | Boulle drop front desk As you can see this desk looks like somebody took life out of it. It lost the beauty, some brass inlay and the finish.
André-Charles Boulle's name is synonymous with the practice of veneering furniture with marquetry of tortoiseshell, pewter, and brass. Although he did not invent the technique, Boulle was its greatest practitioner and lent his name to its common name: boulle work.
This project reqired carefull restoration of bent brass inlay, reconstruction of missing brass and tortoiseshell. Project details |
